Seasonal Summer wedding flowers at the historic The House Hotel, Ramsgate.

There’s something incredibly special about summer weddings by the sea, and this romantic celebration at The House Hotel was the perfect example of how seasonal British flowers can completely transform a space while still feeling natural, relaxed and elegant.

Set against the venue’s dramatic interiors, historic stone fireplace and soft coastal light, the floral design for this wedding embraced the abundance of the British summer season. The overall look was intentionally loose, airy and garden inspired, combining delicate textures with joyful colour to create arrangements that felt both refined and full of movement.

The ceremony focal point was a large scale mantel installation overflowing with seasonal blooms in shades of blush pink, butter yellow, soft lilac and creamy white. Tall foxgloves added height and drama, while campanula, cosmos, sweet peas, peonies and garden roses created softness throughout the design. Delicate umbel flowers and trailing greenery gave the arrangement a wild, freshly gathered feel that suited the relaxed coastal setting beautifully.

The historic fireplace at The House Hotel provided a striking architectural backdrop for the ceremony. Rather than competing with the character of the room, the flowers were designed to enhance it, softening the stonework and bringing warmth and colour into the darker interior space. The result was romantic, immersive and full of depth in photographs.

The bridal bouquet echoed the same seasonal palette and natural movement. Featuring ruffled ranunculus, delicate bell-shaped blooms, sweet peas, garden roses and textural foliage, it felt intentionally unstructured and organic. Long flowing silk ribbon added softness and movement, particularly in the coastal portraits around Ramsgate.

One of the loveliest things about working with seasonal summer flowers is the variety of texture and colour available at this time of year. Summer allows for playful combinations that still feel elegant from airy wildflower elements to larger statement blooms creating arrangements that feel abundant without being overly formal.

As florists, we always love designing for venues with strong architectural character, and The House Hotel offers so many beautiful details to work with. From the atmospheric interiors to the nearby sea views and Georgian streets, every part of the day felt effortlessly romantic.

For couples planning a summer wedding, seasonal flowers are one of the best ways to create designs that feel natural, timeless and connected to the time of year. Using blooms at their peak not only creates movement and texture, but also gives arrangements that relaxed, abundant feeling that photographs so beautifully.

This floral design was a celebration of colour, seasonality and the charm of a seaside wedding in Kent - relaxed, romantic and filled with summer garden flowers at their very best.
