Gorgeous red and pink colour palette at the Turner Contemporary in Margate, Kent

This colour palette was all about contrast. Deep velvety reds against soft blush pinks, designed to feel playful, romantic and a little bit dramatic against the clean modern backdrop of Turner Contemporary in Margate.

The bouquets combined rich red roses with softer textures and trailing sweet peas for something that felt expressive and slightly undone. Bridesmaids wore pale blush satin dresses which worked beautifully with the stronger floral tones, creating a colour palette that felt joyful, modern and full of warmth.

For the ceremony flowers, we created sculptural arrangements filled with garden roses, peonies, sweet peas and seasonal blooms in shades of crimson, cherry, shell pink and raspberry. The modern gold plinths added height and movement without taking away from the incredible sea views and light filled gallery space.

For the reception, we kept the tables relaxed and playful with bud vases dotted throughout the long banquet tables, allowing the florals to feel woven naturally into the celebration rather than overly formal. Soft draping overhead and the coastal light at Turner Contemporary gave everything an airy, romantic atmosphere.

One of our favourite things about working at Turner Contemporary is how well bold colour works within the minimal gallery setting - the flowers become part installation, part celebration. This red and pink palette felt vibrant, design led and full of personality from start to finish.
