Elegant sun drenched garden ceremony at Updown Farmhouse, Deal.

There is something particularly special about an outdoor wedding at Updown Farmhouse. Surrounded by mature gardens, historic brickwork and the relaxed atmosphere that makes this Kent venue so loved by couples, this celebration embraced the beauty of late summer with an elegant floral palette of peach, dark red and white.

The couple chose a colour scheme that felt both timeless and contemporary. Soft peach garden roses, blush dahlias and creamy white blooms brought warmth and romance, while rich burgundy flowers added depth and contrast throughout the designs. The result was a floral scheme that felt refined yet natural, perfectly complementing the sun-filled garden setting.

The outdoor ceremony took place against the backdrop of Updown Farmhouse's beautiful brick façade and lush planting. To frame the aisle, I created a pair of large urn arrangements overflowing with seasonal flowers and abundant foliage.

Designed to feel as though they had grown naturally from the gardens around them, the arrangements featured peach and dramatic burgundy dahlias, garden roses and white delphiniums woven through layers of textured greenery. Their generous scale helped create a focal point for the ceremony while still allowing the venue itself to shine.

The bridal bouquet echoed the ceremony flowers while introducing a slightly softer feel. The warm tones worked beautifully against the bride's modern gown, while the darker flowers provided a contemporary edge that tied the entire floral design together.

One of the things I love most about working at Updown Farmhouse is how naturally floral design can blend with the venue's surroundings. Rather than competing with the gardens, the arrangements were designed to feel connected to them.

Updown Farmhouse is one of Kent's most beautiful venues for couples looking for a relaxed countryside wedding with exceptional character. Its gardens provide the perfect setting for outdoor ceremonies, and floral designs can be tailored to complement both the landscape and the architecture.

For this wedding, the flowers helped create a romantic atmosphere that felt effortless, natural and full of summer warmth.
