Pastel Spring Wedding at St Peter and St Paul Church and Wadhurst Castle.
Wadhurst Castle is a beautiful setting for an East Sussex wedding, with its pale sage green interiors, gilt mirrors and warm herringbone floors. For this May celebration, pastel wedding flowers in soft pink, peach, lilac and white suited the venue perfectly, bringing a fresh, romantic feel to both the church and the reception.
Pastel Peonies and Garden-Inspired Florals
When designing wedding flowers for a venue with so much character, I wanted the arrangements to feel natural and relaxed rather than formal. Loose, garden-style designs worked beautifully against the elegant interiors, adding movement and softness without overpowering the room.
Coral peonies and peach garden roses added warmth, while lupins, sweet peas, campanula and delicate blossom brought a light, wildflower feel. From the bridal bouquet to the church arrangements and reception centrepieces, a shared palette and mix of flowers tied the whole day together.
Church Flowers at St Peter and St Paul
The church ceremony was a lovely opportunity to create something special. Large stone urns filled with blossom, trailing foliage and peonies framed the chancel, and small posies tied with ribbon decorated the pew ends. Against the church’s teal ceiling and stained glass, the soft pastel tones looked bright and romantic.
Reception Flowers at Wadhurst Castle
At the reception, tall urns of spring blossom on plinths created statement arrangements within the sage-green room, while low bowls of peonies and wildflowers sat on each table. Keeping the table flowers low and informal left room for conversation and balanced the grander arrangements.
Wedding Flower Inspiration for Wadhurst Castle
Wadhurst Castle works wonderfully with romantic, seasonal flowers. For a late spring wedding, soft pastels combined with fresh greenery and blossom create a look that feels elegant, natural and full of life.
I love designing wedding flowers that feel at home in their surroundings while reflecting each couple’s style. Wadhurst Castle and St Peter and St Paul Church made an inspiring backdrop for flowers that were romantic, considered and full of character.
If you are getting married at Wadhurst Castle or planning a wedding in East Sussex and are looking for bespoke wedding flowers, I would love to hear about your ideas and help you create a floral design that brings your vision to life.
