Top tips for working with a wedding florist.

Congratulations you’re engaged! Now what? Here’s some tips when working towards your dream wedding florals…

Where do I start?

Before booking your florist, research their style and make sure it aligns with the type of flowers and arrangements you like. There’s no point asking a florist who loves seasonal flowers and natural arrangements to use exotic flowers and tight, ball shaped bouquets and table arrangements!

When is a good time to contact your florist?

Now! Either you have a good idea of what you’re after (hello pinterest!) or you don’t know where to begin. Either way it’s worth checking that the florist you like is available and let them know any info about what you think you might want such as ceremony and reception venue, colours you like, types of arrangements.

What are the next steps of the booking process?

Here at Ultramarine we’ll let you know what package suits your needs the most. We offer an ‘intimate floral service’ for a straightforward booking process and small scale flowers or the ‘bespoke floral service’ for those looking for more of a floral experience.

What happens if none of these services feel quite right?

Send us an email detailing what you’re after and we should be able to adapt our intimate wedding service to what you’re looking for!

Any further tips?

Trust your florist! They know what they’re talking about. For example, if your favourite flower is a peony but you’re getting married in December, a good florist will advise you to think about other flower options. It’s very unlikely your florist will be able to get a peony and if they do, the quality will be terrible!
