An intimate wedding with maximal floral styling.

I love the idea that a smaller wedding doesn't have to mean keeping everything small.

This intimate wedding editorial was all about creating a sense of abundance within a cosy setting, using flowers, foliage and thoughtful styling to bring the outside in.

For the flowers, I wanted to create something that felt fresh, natural and slightly unexpected. The tables were kept light and airy with loose arrangements in a soft spring palette of white and cream, allowing the greenery and beautiful details around them to really shine.

I particularly loved using small touches of colour through the centres of the flowers, rather than relying on lots of brightly coloured petals. Yellow flower centres picked up on the taper candles, while deeper berry tones appeared through the berry stalks and grapes used as little finishing touches.

A floral fireplace installation

One of the main floral moments was the fireplace.

I created a sprawling wedding mantelpiece floral installation using lots of greenery and loose stems, allowing the flowers to move across the fireplace rather than sitting neatly within a traditional arrangement.

I wanted it to feel somewhere between manicured and meadow like, abundant and organic, but still considered and sculptural.

A fireplace or mantelpiece can make a wonderful focal point for wedding flowers. It naturally draws the eye and can completely change the feeling of a room, whether you're looking for something abundant and wild, sculptural and contemporary, or softer and more romantic.

More than just the table

What I loved about this shoot was the way the flowers worked throughout the room rather than being confined to bouquets and table arrangements.

The combination of foliage, flowers, soft fabrics, stoneware, candles and artwork created a warm, layered setting that felt intimate without feeling minimal.

It's a good example of how floral design can become part of the wider visual story of a wedding, from the tablescape to the fireplace, and all the little details in between.
