April flowers at the Turner Contemporary, Margate.
What a joy to have our first wedding of 2026 at our local iconic venue the Turner Contemporary in Margate!
Creating with a Spring mix of peonies, ranunculus and anemones in a gorgeous palette of burgundy, pinks, white and green. Concrete vessels on white plinths that complimented the art gallery framed the very stylish colour as their guests can look onto the sea view.
As guests arrived at the gallery, the flowers brought a softness and warmth to the contemporary space while still feeling completely in keeping with the clean architectural lines of the venue. We loved the contrast between the sculptural concrete vessels and the delicate movement of the seasonal blooms, a combination that felt modern and artistic.
The bridal flowers echoed the ceremony styling with loose, textural arrangements full of movement and rich colour. Burgundy calla lilies added depth amongst layers of romantic peonies and ranunculus, while fresh green amaranthus kept everything feeling natural and effortless. April is always such a beautiful time for wedding flowers, with some of the most expressive seasonal blooms beginning to appear.
One of the most special parts of flowering weddings at the Turner Contemporary is how the changing light from the sea interacts with the flowers throughout the day. As the afternoon moved into evening, the palette became even richer against the soft coastal backdrop, creating such a lovely atmosphere for guests to celebrate in.
The Turner Contemporary is such a unique wedding venue here in Margate, it’s ideal for couples wanting something modern, creative and connected to the Kent coastline. We always enjoy designing flowers for this space because it allows statement floral pieces to really shine without overwhelming the room.
For this wedding, we focused on creating designs that felt elegant but relaxed, artistic yet welcoming. The combination of seasonal flowers, contemporary styling and the incredible sea views made it a truly memorable way to begin our 2026 wedding season.
